The International Whistlers Guild (IWG)
The IWG was founded in 2020 by young ambitious whistlers with the aim of reaching the farthest corners of the globe to find hidden musical talents and bring them to light. We have a passion for whistling and are doing our part to share it with the world.
The IWG's first competition, the Global Whistling Championship 2020, is the first ever online international whistling competition. Participants new and old to whistling competitions will be rated on their whistling by judges and the general public to determine the first ever Global Whistling Champion!
Here are the IWG Founders:
Mike has been whistling all of his life, but is relatively new to the whistling community. He first participated in the Masters of Musical Whistling competition in 2017 where he was immediately hooked. He does not have a musical background and specializes in 'popular' songs you hear on the radio. He looks forward to participating in future competitions and helping grow the art of whistling around the world.

Gaizka began whistling at an early age, whistling the theme songs to his favorite cartoons and pop songs. In 2003, he picked up a new instrument - the trumpet. He would first practice his trumpet pieces by whistling them and moving his fingers along to each note. As the trumpet pieces grew harder, his whistling became his instrument of choice. Gaizka began competing in international whistling competitions in 2015 and was a finalist for the Masters of Musical Whistling Competition held in Los Angeles, California in 2017. He plans on competing there again next year. Gaizka is an avid runner and an Engineer in Fort Worth, TX. You can find him whistling at Classical Open Mic (COM) in Dallas, TX on any given Tuesday.
